National Boat Advisors (NBA) is a FREE online resource guide designed to help find the right boat for your lifestyle. We are happy to answer any of your questions on relating to boating, fishing, and marine matters. We want to make you feel comfortable with the service we provide, so we will gladly give you our opinion so they you can make an informed decision the fist time.
If you like what you hear, reach out to us and we will start the process by sending you a buyers questionnaire. This will helps learn more about you, understand what you're looking for, and how and where you plan to use your boat. If you decide to hire us, we start work for you on your behalf as a buyers representative to find what your looking for.

Build Your Boat
We will carefully figure out what are "must haves", "would like to have" and "not necessary to have" questions. New boaters or or old sailors always have questions. Should I buy new or used, which manufacture, what's the right layout, size, electronics, and what's the latest and greatest on the market. Getting it right the first time is our top priority.

We tell all of our clients , "its aways a buyers market" for boats. The pre-owned boat market spans over all 50 states. It's off-season somewhere and that opens up more opportunities for you. Depending on what your timeframe is, transporting about is not as difficult as you might think. This expands your options. If you are purchasing a new boat, we well can assist with your local dealer and manufacture.
Whether you’re a first-time boater or a seasoned pro, purchasing a boat is a big decision and it comes with a lot of questions. As the founder of National Boat Advisors, I’ve been in your shoes and have bought, sold, and operated boats for more than 50 years and counting.
Anyone can go online and ask Capt. GPT all the questions they want about boating, but the truth is, there’s no substitute for “on the water" experience. A.I. will answer your questions, but it won’t tell you which boat is right for your lifestyle.

When you’re ready to move forward, we will help locate that boat for you. The boat marketplace (new or per-owned) can be tricky and overwhelming. Our experience can help guild you through this process, with no emotion, pressure to buy, or commitment to anyone other than you.
Having someone with experience on your side can be the difference between the right boat or a very costly mistake.
Our Services
Locate & Purchase
Our fee based service begins with helping you select you boat, power source, and options,. Once you've decided, we will search the marketplace inventory and help you located and purchase the right boat for you.
If it's a new or custom build, we will located right dealer or manufacture for you, and consult with purchase process, option selection, warranty package, or setup a factory tour.
Marine Surveyor, Mechanics & Sea-Trail
Before purchasing your boat, we can help you decide if you need to hire a boat surveyor or marine mechanic to do a complete inspection of boat's systems. In some cases, a full survey in not always necessary. NBA can recommend a local survey company and mechanics for you.
When the time comes, we can schedule your sea-trail and final inspection prior to closing. If needed, NBA offers an onsite option for these services. Additional fees apply.
Storage, Insurance, and Transportation
It is important before you close, that you have your insurance and storage or marina location setup in advance. Knowing where you will be mooring your boat takes top priority. Most storage locations and marinas across the country have limited space or long waiting lists to get in. Availability for larger boats can be a bigger challenge. Start this process early.
Next step is to setup your insurance coverage before taking possession for your boat.

If you find a boat out of state and you need assistance with transpiration, its not a problem. NBA can recommend or setup transport services for you.
Operation, Safety, and Certification Courses
NBA highly recommends everyone operating your vessel, including seasoned boaters, to keep up with continued education or refresh your training. Many for these course are online, teach at your pace and schedule, and are very well designed.
If you are someone that likes hands on instructions, NBA can recommend private training with a licensed captain who will come aboard your boat and teach you about your boat and get you familiar with you're local waterways.
Private Show Tours
One of the best recourses to education yourself are local or national boat shows. There you can see, touch, and feel just about everything marine and boating related. Keep in mind that many local boat shows are location specific and manufactures that attend will likely bring to the show the more popular boats for that area, region, or waterway.
If you would like to see a larger selection of boat manufactures, consider attending a national boat show. Be aware that National shows can be very overwhelming. NBA offers private tours of many of the National shows.
The Boat Marketplace
​Roughly 80% of all boats purchased are pre-owned, so odds are it's likely your boat will be one too. We like to say, "it's always a "buyers market" when it comes purchasing a boat. Knowing the right strategies when negotiating with sellers can literally save you thousands for dollars to be used for better things.
​Today, the US boat market spans across all 50 states and provides a much wider selection of boats and more options to choose from than ever before. The fact is, the internet has changed the entire playing field for buyers. Every day, boats of all sizes are transported around the country and depending on your timeframe, transporting a boat isn't as difficult as you might think.
If you're choice is a New or Custom Built boat, as a buyers representative, we will locate your dealer, help you with option selections, warranty choices, and purchase and delivery details.
If you ultimately decide that the timing simply isn't right for you, no worries. NBA will wait for you when you're ready to purchase. Often the best strategy to sit tight and be patient.
